Cold War Kids Hold My Home Downtown 2014

One of the finest alternative bands working...

The evolution of an artist or in this case a now rock solid band can be an incredible thing. Cold War Kids and their latest effort Hold My Home establishes this group as one to watch now and for the near future. The tunes are solid yet they transcend genre as the variety should have heads turning quickly. Commercial alternative? No, this is a band that would now seem to be comfortable with their artistic vision and excited about reaching a far wider audience.
There are a plethora of alternative bands but with few offering anything new, different or remotely engaging. Hold My Home offers such stellar tunes such as the rhythmic power of "Drive Desperate" and a hip-hop infused "First" and it is this diversity that gives the band a more spatial dimension and sense of harmonic confidence missing from previous efforts. Previous releases were mediocre at best while Hold My Home could well be referred to as the new sound for alternative music. Highly recommended!
