Allan Harris Black Bar Jukebox Love 2014

One of the unsung heroes in vocal music today!

Notice I specifically leave off the umbrella term jazz as Allan Harris has the chops to roll from jazz to blues to soul and do so with minimal effort. Equally impressive would be the band which while rock solid also includes guitar virtuoso Yotam Silberstein. Song selection can make or break a release, Black Bar Jukebox includes some dynamite arrangement and more of an urban vibe on tunes such as "My Funny Valentine" and "You Make Me Feel So Young."
Two of the more interesting tracks (arrangements included) are the Elton John classic "Take Me To The Pilot" and "Stranger On The Shore." So why does the release work so well? An eclectic and engaging mix of compositions delivered with a more contemporary vibe drawn from the personal experience and musical DNA from Harris.
A soulful excursion incuding some tunes penned by Kenny Rankin and John Mayer turn what good be an average release into a great release!
Tracks: I Got A Lot Of Livin' To Do; Miami; Catfish; Lester Leaps In; A Little Bit Scared; Take Me To The Pilot; Love's The Key; My Funny Valentine; Can It Be This Is A Dream; Daughters; Stranger On The Shore; You Make Me Feel So Young; Haven't We Met
