Ryan Adams is back swinging for the fences and he connects!

Adams is shifting harmonic gears opting for a blues / rock approach with his latest self titled release. The rock side has always been a fan favorite but did a little deeper from his musical soul should win over a plethora of new converts as well. Bruce Springsteen lite? No, better has Adams never wears out his welcome with any one particular piece of subject matter and is meticulously careful not to get in his own way.
Potential hits are plentiful with "My Wrecking Ball" and "I Just Might" leading the way followed close behind by "Gimme Something Good" and "Kim." Their are some intimate and far more introspective tunes sprinkled throughout but again not at the risk of tipping over the pretentious band wagon of lyrical acceptance.
The self titled release hits all the marks on most and exceeds expectations on many, a killer release. This is one of the rare releases that turns up something new with each subsequent spin.
