A Social Media Lesson

For those of you unfamiliar with Artie Lange, he got his biggest break on the Howard Stern show. Lange has battled multiple demons including substance abuse and depression. These demons subsequently had him "banned" from the Stern show and just recently Lange tweeted out some rather disturbing remarks concerning a female host with ESPN...

Forgiveness? Artie Lange has profusely apologized and has nothing negative to say concerning his status with the Stern show. Politically correct liberal ideology would have you believe that forgiving Lange is the right thing to do, it is. Here is the problem...Once you hit "send" then your comments are out there for everyone unless you delete them and that action alone is somewhat of an admission of "guilt." Artie Lange fights his demons everyday. Not one of us can say we are without "sin" and tossing stones in a politically correct glass house is not the answer.

I have encephalopathy which is when too much ammonia builds up in the body when you suffer from Liver disease. I have said things that I regret. When you have this disease your fuse is short and confusion is at times rampant. Cognitive skills begin to slip and before I was diagnosed, I was clueless as to why I acted out as I did at times. Medication helps but like Lange, it is a daily grind.

Liberals are the most intolerant people on the planet and seem to only argue or discuss matters based on ideology and not verifiable facts. As a conservative, I have been called everything but my given name by people that don't even know me. They judge me on stereotypes alone.

Social media is a great method of bringing people together but it is also a dangerous cyber island of misfit toys...Always think before you hit send. You may not get a second chance.
