Guitarist / Composer Peter White shines with Smile!

In the day of the digital download and pre-ordering the old fashioned release date means nothing. Smile will street on Oct. 7th and is already available for pre-order through Amazon. White's third release of all original compositions features some all star cameos from Euge Groove, Rick Braun, Mindi Abair and Philippe Sasse. White's daughter Charlotte White is back turning in another memorable performance on violin. This is a magnificent example of the modern evolution of smooth jazz from catchy melodies to flourishes of R & B, classical and a world music flavor few can match.
Mindi Abair delivers the goods on vocals for the vibrant title track "Smile." The vocals on Smile move to the next level with "Hold Me Close" which again features Abair and the soulful and soul filled style of Stevo Theard. Smile is a virtual showcase for White's prolific compositional talent as he moves from Latin to more ambient textures yet nothing ever hits the ostentatious harmonic disconnect that would be pretty easy to find for some. Smile is deceptively subtle yet harmonically very complex, the new sound for contemporary instrumental music. A particular jewel in Smile would be "Don Quixote's Final Quest" sort of a tribute to the Mason Williams composition "Classical Gas." Uniquely different while wildly accessible, this piece which was co-written with Freddie Ravel embraces the finger style Spanish guitar for which White is now globally recognized.
In the world of contemporary instrumental music, Pete White stands alone as one of the searching artists looking to discover new sounds and always willing to take that harmonic road less traveled.
One of the best releases across any genre for 2014.
Tracks: Smile; In Rainbows; Floating In Air; Head Over Heels; Coming Home; Nightfall; Hold Me Closer; Beautiful Love; Don Quixote's Final Quest; Awakening (Jordan's Song).
