GINGER BAKER SIGNS TO MOTEMA MUSIC
Motéma Music is proud to announce the signing of Ginger Baker. Best known for his time with ground-breaking rock-band Cream (Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce) and revered as one of the best drummers in the world, Ginger has recently been selling out jazz venues with his percussion heavy, afro-influenced Jazz Confusion band featuring Pee Wee Ellis, Alec Dankworth and Abass Dodoo. The release follows up a 2012 documentary on Ginger, Beware of Mr. Baker, which won the Grand Jury prize for Best Documentary at SXSW.
JJA NOMINATES MOTEMA AS RECORD LABEL OF THE YEAR
The national Jazz Journalists Association just nominated Motéma as Best Record Label of the Year. The 2014 award winners will be announced at the annual awards event June 11 in New York City at the Blue Note.
