A full bodied, robust release full of flavor and celebration, David Pack and friends nail it cold!

A truly one of a kind outing that brings together some of the greatest names in music with some of the finest wineries in the world. Napa Crossroads is a musical summit featuring such stellar artists as Ray Manzarek, Todd Rundgren, David Benoit and Larry Carlton. Toss in the collaborative efforts of the five key players in the Napa Valley wine industry and success is simply a variable of taste. The most amazing aspect of Napa Crossroads is the harmonious synergy with which a plethora of artists cutting across a wide range of genres and styles can fuse their talents as one. While David Pack is one of the most highly regarded artists of this generation, this is an effort that was truly a labor of love and five years in the making.
The initial reaction would be to assume a more commercially oriented contemporary jazz release but that would be rather limiting and wildly inaccurate. Genres are carefully blended with the end result a musical celebration of life and the special place that wine holds for so many. The five wineries that contributed so well to this endeavor include Far Niente, Silver Oak, Cellars, Twomey Cellars, Pride Mountain Vineyards, Casa Piena and Gargiulo Vineyards. The wineries backed the project both with their financial resources and creative efforts on two tracks each.
There are no notable covers here. Napa Crossroads contains original music and if you can capture that foodie farm to table vibe on a shiny silver disc than David Pack and friends have pulled off a bountiful harvest indeed. Music stopped being art and became a business a while back. When business and music join forces for the greater good the results can be staggering. A delicious recording and a welcome addition to any library.
