October 9th, 2013 - New York, NY - Entering the Top 10 on the CMJ Hip Hop Chart this week, M1, Brian Jackson & The New Midnight Band: Evolutionary Minded is a collective celebration expanding upon the legendary Gil Scott-Heron's music. The album, released on September 10th includes a musical cross-section of like-minded souls: Brian Jackson (GSH’s Co-Composer), M1 (Dead Prez), Chuck D (Public Enemy), Martin Luther (The Roots), Mike Clark (Headhunters), Gregory Porter, and core members of Gil's Amnesia Express and Midnight Band.

Picked as one of Contra Costa Times recommendations to see at The recent Monterey Jazz Festival, Jackson and his co-horts have been sharpening up the live show with recent sold out gigs at London's Jazz Cafe as well as the world reknowned La Vilette Jazz Festival in Paris.
