The Best Of Doug Ferony Volume 1 2013

Vocalist Doug Ferony has that special talent to transcend genre and exceed expectations!
Brent Black /

Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Bobby Darin are gone and they are not coming back.  When you hear a talent like Doug Ferony then that classic swing and splash of sophistication that was vocal jazz fifty years ago will continue to live on for generations to come. It would be too easy to slap on the arbitrary label of “crooner” as labels are for cans of soup and the songs that best showcase the amazing versatility of Doug Ferony run the sonic spectrum from James Taylor to arguably the finest vocalist of our time in Frank Sinatra.
Credibility is crucial for any artist. Connectivity with an audience is an innate gift of turning a song into a personal journey. The Best of Doug Ferony Volume I, finds two highly regarded artists in tenor saxophone master Joel Frahm and Maxxjazz recording artist Deena Derose. The Best of Doug Ferony Volume I captures the essence of stories both personal and timeless with classics from the Great American Songbook.  From the 1999 release Time After Time, an emotionally stirring duet featuring Doug with pianist and vocalist Deena DeRose with “I Fall In Love Too Easily” written by the legendary team of Sammy Cahn and Jule Styne. This touching tribute  to Doug’s wife who lost her battle with brain cancer in 1998 tugs at the heart while “That’s Life” is a tune brimming with the type of flair and elegance one associates with the iconic Chairman of the Board. Ferony's gift transcends the recording studio with the original composition “I’m In Love With A Girl” finding its way to the big screen in the motion picture Mr. Vincent which received critical acclaim at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival.
Some things never go out of style, a dark suit, cuff links, and good scotch. Toss in the artistry of Doug Ferony and you may just have the perfect evening.
