Become an Organ Donor and All That Jazz

Like the photo?

This was taken back in April and roughly 48 hours before an infection in my leg almost took my life. The infection was due to a massive amount of fluid that built up in my leg thanks to my advanced liver disease. Two months later I almost died again on my 3rd operation to rope off some blood vessels that were trying to make a break for it in my throat.

I am known as an outspoken conservative critic. Let me assure you this is NOT about ideology. We all want better health care. We all want reform. Let me break down one very important issue not covered under Obamacare.

I am up for consideration for a liver transplant by next year. There are no promises. I don't know if I qualify yet and there is a long way to go health wise before I may even be considered.

Did you know that transplant qualifications are better in some states than others?
That's right! You could live or die depending upon where you live...You may think it will never happen to you. It may not. It may be a family member or a dear friend. Life is what happens when you are busy making other plans.

Transplant guideline reform is NOT covered under Obamacare.
There are musicians out in the real world paying for insurance (if they can) and could easily find themselves in the same position I am in now.

PLEASE...become an organ donor. Better still, contact your state representatives and find out how you can help change these guidelines I mentioned above.

Contact the American Liver Foundation for more information.

If you would like to help my fund use the paypal link on my homepage www.criticaljazz.com
I have no clue as to what the future holds. I do know this...I will continue to fight for and promote organ donor awareness as much as I possibly can.

Fight for health care reform that actually means something!

Many many thanks!
