Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas Justin Time 2011

Canada's Justin Time Records continues to impress with a string of stellar jazz recordings both reissued and new. Now I realize Christmas seems to come earlier each year but the U.S. Postal service brought me tidings of great joy in the form of a wonderful Christmas release, HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS.

Sorry, I don't celebrate "Holiday."

A wonderful reissue with some new recordings added from Hilary Kole in the form of "Let It Snow" and "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas." Oliver Jones adds "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear" along with a duet with Ranee Lee in "A Christmas Day." Taurey Butler tosses in "Little Drummer Boy" for some more previously unreleased Christmas flavor. A particular favorite here is a whimsical riff on "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch" from Coral Egan. Diana Krall does her spin on "Jingle Bells" not to forget a stellar rendition of "The Christmas Song."

Reviewing Christmas music is a little like shooting musical fish in a barrel. The Christmas originals here are entertaining with the best part being there are just three which while perhaps popular with our neighbors to the north should provide a welcome addition to the audiences worldwide.

A welcome addition to any Christmas library and for more information go to:
